First of all I want to let you know that you built an amazing web app! I discovered it a few weeks ago via Reddit and have already a large part of my LEGO collection in the tracker. I can almost get rid of my Excel sheet. ;-)
Almost, because there are a few items which I track in the Excel sheet which are not (yet?) in BrickTracker.
I have put them all below, but separately. If needed, I can split them in separate requests.
Ability to add a custom status to a LEGO set from a drop-down, like the drop-down for the storage. I currently use the status in my Excel to track if I bought it new or second hand, but I can imagine it can also be handy to track a different status.
LEGO retail price field. I enter the price I have paid for the set, but also enter the retail price in my sheet, so I can see the amount of money I saved when buying a set with discount.
Savings on a set / total savings on the complete collection, or theme. You already have some great statistics in your BrickTracker. If the retail price can be added and the discount can be calculated, it would be great to see the total amount of money saved compared to the retail prices. And maybe some other statistics like acount saved per year / theme.
Notes field, but I saw that one is already coming in 1.4. :-)
Thanks for the kind words and feature request!
Custom set status: This is kinda already possible using tags. You can create tags like "New", "Second Hand", "Unopened" etc. and assign them to your sets. I use tags for this purpose.
LEGO retail price / savings: This is something I'm already working on in #37. The plan is to add a lightweight sidecar container that can serve set metadata (MSRP, release/retirement dates, etc.) sourced from various LEGO databases. Once that's in place, auto-filling a retail price and calculating savings would be easy on top of it. I do not have an ETA though.
Notes: Already coming in 1.4 as you mentioned!
Feel free to follow #37 for updates and let me know if i misunderstood anything.
You're welcome. It really is a great tool. :-)
I already use the "status" and "tag" options, which are nice. For now I also have the tags "New" and "Second Hand" created. The only disadvantage of this way or working is that you could select both since it is a checkbox and not a dropdown, but on the other hand: It does the job, just requires some extra attention when setting it up.
That sounds nice! Looking forward to it, even if there is no ETA.
Great!
